How to support:
Encourage Consistent attendance, Reinforcing self discipline and team accountability, and build strong communication relationships.
Ask yourself this:
What does relentless preparation look like? How hard are you willing to work for success? Are you willing to give everything you have to a cause greater than yourself? What energy do you bring to the program?
Spring Sports start this week along with spring training!
Spring sports count towards athletes individual pride points and squad points - 150 Points for each athlete that completes the season. Totals will be updated at the end of the spring season.
Morning workouts begin to count towards athletes pride points as well! +2 points per day per athlete. Totals will be updated weekly on the Pride Points page.
As we move into spring training we begin to pick up the pace of our training.
During the closed period (Monday, March 2 – Sunday, April 12). Morning Weights will still happen from 6:45-7:45am. It is important that during this period we continue to push ourselves and progress in our weight training. We cannot be complacent.
After April 12th the Spring weight training starts to change shape. We begin to start to re introduce throwing the football and teaching our Phase 1 offense and defense. This looks like our base plays and formations for both sides of the ball. This period will still involve weight training but also introduce essential conditioning that helps strengthen the pace we will play at. This schedule will look like
Mon / Wed. Weight room 6:45-7:45am
Tue / Thur. Turf conditioning 6:45-7:45am.
Leadership Recap:
Monday: We met with senior leaders and discussed what adversity they have faced in life and their greatest accomplishments. We also finished off 4 whole pizzas!
Tuesday: We talked the focus for our training and how we break down our season into 6 stages of success. (Ask a senior about Coach Farrell's SEMA Build visual). We devoured 9 boxes of Urban Kitchen Noodles and Chicken!
Wednesday: We continued to develop the vision of building that car and how that compares to our football program. We also did our squad draft. See the results here. (6 Footlong subs from subway were consumed!)
Fundraising reminder:
Parents: Our team fundraising will also require your help. Each athlete will need at minimum one parent / guardian / representative that is 21+ to help serve at one of our OLCC events.

Senior Leadership and Squad drafts Monday - Wednesday next week.
As we move into the second stage of success the focus becomes:
To develop Strength and Agility in multisport athletes. Begin Phase 1 Offense / Defense install.
Spring Morning weights attendance contributes towards athletes Lion Pride Points and overall squad points.
Attendance to morning weights contributes to goals bigger than the football program. This allows athletes to lift early in the morning and recover in time for afternoon spring sports! In addition this saves time for spring sports to excel at the fundamentals!
Quarterback clinics during the closed period have been removed from the offseason schedule. Coach Farrell apologizes for the miscommunication here and he has gathered clarity on the new OSAA rulings.
As a reminder please check the website schedule for the latest updates on schedule changes. https://www.cglionsfootball.com/
